By completely rethinking our design process for the Aeolus RSL, we advanced far beyond marginal gains. By being able to use 3D CFD models in our iterative feedback loop and incorporating more variables that impact speed, we were able to better replicate real-world conditions and build wheels that are not only faster.

Greater width, greater speed
The Aeolus's 23mm rim width provides the best aerodynamic connection with the tires, allowing them to roll faster. This design also allows the tires to be inflated at lower pressures for smoother handling and faster speed, and reduced fatigue.
More Speed with Less Power
The aerodynamically faster rim shapes and a wheel/tire profile proven to reduce rolling resistance result in significant energy savings. For a rider like Mads Pedersen of the Trek-Segafredo team, the Aeolus RSL saves him 34 watts in a sprint to the finish compared to the previous Aeolus.

RSL-grade OCLV carbon is the lightest and strongest carbon available, allowing us to create the fastest rim shapes possible.
Tubeless Ready (TLR)
The wheelset can be easily converted to tubeless with Bontrager's TLR rim strips or a rim tape system, which is the lightest option.
